My Journey
My name is Dale Kaschula, the proud founder of "Kasch Fashion Designs & Personal Styling."
My passion for sewing began at the age of 7, inspired by the teachings of my mother and grandmother.
As a teenager, I had a wardrobe unlike any other—filled with unique, homemade outfits that made every special occasion truly special. Often, I’d find myself sewing through the night to complete a new design for the next day's function, driven by my love for creating one-of-a-kind pieces.

My first sewing machine was an old black Singer, on which I initially made doll clothes. Today, I own three different machines: an embroidery machine, a computerized machine, and an overlocker, with plans to add another for heavier fabrics. The evolution from that first Singer to my current setup mirrors my journey as a designer.

The first full outfit I created was a lavender satin dress with puff sleeves, a drop waist, and a two-frill layered skirt—a very 80s design that I adored. Thirty years later, my love for satin and frills persists, and I now specialize in wedding dresses, bridal party outfits, formal dresses, and evening wear. Although I didn’t always keep photos of my creations, I’ve started drawing them from memory and documenting my designs in journals, complete with sketches, fabric swatches, and photos of the finished outfits.

One day, I aspire to launch my own fashion line, possibly even two. My dream includes collaborating with local artisans in Zimbabwe to create my designs, providing them with sustainable livelihoods and reinvesting a portion of each sale back into their communities for education, health, and housing. This initiative is my way of giving back to the wonderful people of Zimbabwe and my homeland, celebrating the vibrant and unique fabrics of Africa. Check out the "My African Designs" page for more about this dream.
Personal styling became a professional pursuit after I was diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time. I decided to take a course in "Personal Styling", turning a long-time passion into a service I then offered to clients. Whether it was everyday wear, corporate attire, or special occasions, I loved helping both men and women find their perfect style. My service included wardrobe audits, mixing and matching clothing, and offering recycling or donation options for items no longer needed. By the end of our sessions, clients had a streamlined wardrobe, fresh outfit ideas, and a list of essential staples.

I have also hosted a few "Sip and Style" evenings—a fun, interactive experience for groups of friends celebrating occasions like hen’s nights or birthdays. Guests enjoy drinks while I style them, teach them about body shapes, and sometimes, color coding, based on the host's request. These events are filled with laughter and provide a unique, enjoyable activity for friends.

Having battled breast cancer twice and emerged victorious, I’ve learned the importance of pursuing what I love, not just what pays the bills. This experience has been my wake-up call, propelling me to fully embrace my passion for Fashion Design and personal styling.
As much as I enjoyed the Sip & Style Sessions and Event Planning, I am now turning my focus to designing one-off, unique outfits such as wedding dresses & formal gowns, just to name a few. As each year pans out, my dream takes on various forms. It evolves, getting bigger and sometimes certain things have to be done away with to make room for the bigger things. What keeps me going is the love and support from friends and family who believe in me.
